Audi Service Center thinks Head Gasket Blown?

Hi All,

New to the forum but have reviewed it many times. I have a 2006 S4 with 84K miles on it that drives like a dream..have had no issues with it until recently. It developed it's first oil leak ever about 3 weeks ago - no big deal. Last week, we had some very cold weather come in, and I noticed the smell of fuel in the cabin. It's definitely coming from the engine bay (the smell is obvious outside of the car). When it happened, we had a couple of days of subzero temps so I assumed a fitting or hose had become brittle and cracked slightly. OK - enough background.

Took to an audi service center to fix both leaks - the fuel leak is small (not spewing gas or anything) but still not good. Long story short, they don't know what it is, but think that the head gasket *might* need to be replaced. They are running a coolant test now to confirm (and also to make sure that fuel isn't in the cooling system). I don't understand this as I've never had any issues with leaking coolant or lost coolant, the car NEVER overheats or has ever overheated since I've owned it, and drives great. There is no smoke or weird smells other than the fuel smell, which I think is an entirely separate issue. Audi agrees that it drives great and no weird smells or smoke, so I guess I don't get the diagnosis. I

'm really posting this to see if you all think I should get my car out of that shop and go somewhere else or if you think this sounds reasonable.

One other thing to add - the oil does not look milky (at least on the dipstick)
