Megasquirt 4.2l ABH V8
Hi Guys
I have just fitted a 4.2l Audi V8 into my mid engined kitcar. I am using a Megasquirt (MS1 V3 MS Extra code) for ignition and injection.
I have a 36-1 trigger wheel on the front pulley
I have the cylinders numbered on the left side (from the front) 1 - 4 and right 5 - 8 on the right. The injectors are grouped in 2 x 4 and squirt 4 times a cycle.
I have set the wasted spark pairs as:
1 & 6
5 & 3
4 & 7
8 & 2
so cylinders 1 & 6 fire together on the compression and exhaust stroke etc...
my VR Sensor is on tooth 5 (of the 36-1) wheel at front left cyl TDC. I have set the trigger angkle to 60 degrees and teh 10 degree dwell, which means the engine should fire at tooth number 4, 13, 22 and 31 (ie 10 degrees before TDC for each batch of 2 cylinders.)
Has anyone done something similar?
Does anyone know what the ignition advance or fuel settings are?
The engine fires but backfires through the inlet manifold and out of the exhaust, so something is wrong. I have a great spark and fuel
Any help would be awesome as I am going crazy trying to get this started!
Kind regards
Nick
