can someone tell me where cylinder #8 is located? Thanks.

cyl 8 = Driver's side, at firewall.

4.2 cyl numbering, looking at engine from front of car, and working back towards firewall:

Passenger side = 1-2-3-4
Driver side = 5-6-7-8

Thanks...i guess audis are known for BAD coil packs.

yeah, the 7th and 8th went out the other day on my 2004. the dealer said it was still covered under the warranty, so they changed all eight for free.
