Paint Peeling from valve covers
2005 S4 - the silver paint is blistering off the valve covers. Anyone else have this problem? What are the options to recover this?

I've also asked about it during my regular service trips to the shop, and the response is that there is not much you can do, other than removing the covers, blasting and repainting them. I'm not at a point to spend that kind of $$$ yet.

I know this is old but didn't see an answer. Well if you are mechanically inclined, remove that sucker, place a clean towel over the valves and clean, degrease, sand and repaint. If you don't have a weekend to do it, then find a set of VC's online and refinish them at your leisure. BMW's are notorious for this and on some of my BMW, I repaint with silver engine paint or I've gotten into black crinkle finish which is strong and looks awesome. Just my .02$

i got 75% through taking the VC's off myself to put new gaskets and paint them and 2 of the bolts were ceased and now stripped. Had audi replace the gaskets under warranty, but the sloppy tech scratched the valve covers so what i got was worse then what i started with. At least oil doesn't pee everywhere now.... (done at ~48,000 miles)
