Hi, did you ever find out if you needed to take the engine out? What symptoms did you have to know it was a head gasket failure?
Thanks for reply |
I had bought a 2007 with a misfire and losing coolant without leaks problem. Turned out to be intermediate cooling o-rings found in the back of the engine, spark plug gap, bad coil, and a broken coil connector. It had 125k miles. Never heard of a head gasket failing. The o-ring is replaced when the head gasket is replaced so it is a less-known fact. also removing the oil cap and looking for places in the head where it looks like oil won't touch or even if it looks like coolant in the oil this may be a good check. Doing a compression test is the easiest way to tell or not. Any standard shop can do a compression test if needed.
