RS6 Engine vs A6 V8 Engine - Manual Conversion
Hi guys
I am looking into what is needed to convert my RS6 to 6MT.
I have read somewhere that the block need's to be changed to use a manual but not sure why and if this is the case I would like to know if the C5 A6 V8 block is the same as the RS6 engine block should this be the case?
Also keen to find out if i can use an S6 engine to build a long engine to put into my RS6 when i pull it off the road this is purely to save down time.
Cheers,

Re: You know their is a reason the RS6 was built with the transmission it has, don't you????
Mercury26 yes the reason from what i can tell was to be a cruiser and also save on costly clutch changes.
I have tuned my car to the point where the transmission is the limiting factor and weak link

Re: But I could be wrong, though it is what I have heard from a few sources.
Mercury26- Well that may also be the case as i am not 100% either, but I have my heart set on a 6MT RS6 and I will also try and shed as much weight as possible.
A few tuning shops have done this using the RS4 B5 gearbox with great success, I will not be launching it off the rev-limiter.
