Default Temp gauge 100-110

Whatz the problem? On a mixed drive of city & country roads the gauge always has read in the middle at 90c. Over the weekend the gauge reads 100 to 110 after about 10 minutes acceleration is noticably down on norm. oil temp is up too from a norm of 85-90 to 100+. I've parked the S6 until I investigate the issue. It has 98k on the clock. Oil & water levels are ok with no leaks. Any ideas?

If it goes up at low speeds you need new fans.

T-stat failure is very common on this engine. Most likely culpret. Recc timing belt and rollers and w-pump too.

Fan control module is more likely. Mine had water in it.
