Default Timing belt change

Anyone here ever change a timing belt on one of these things. Is it a pita? any special tools?

I have done it several times now. There are no shortcuts.

OK so what is a reasonable cost from an independent to do the timing belt and replace the water pump? I got a quote of $2500 and nearly died. I have a 2000 4.2 with 90,000 on it.
What is the magic of 90,000 miles anyway?
