2013-2014 Allroad oem wheel offset

If you intend to go with 7" width rims you would probably want to got with a lower number positive offset so the wheels are not so "tucked in" to the wells. But there's always a happy medium between aesthetics (rim flush with the outside of the fender) and practicality (no rub assurance and body protection from tire splatter). 38mm positive offset seems to be the most recommended for 17x7 setup with 225x55 snow tires.

Thanks for the help...
Seems like I want less offset to keep the tires more to the outside...at least according to this site:
Online Wheel and Tyre Fitment Calculator. Offset, Tyre Stretch and Speedo Error | Will They Fit
Which is what you recommend.. Except you mention 38mm at the end of your post...
Sorry...still confused....

Ordinarily you want a compromise between aesthetics and practicality. But for Winter driving in snow it's more about practicality, therefore 38mm with that setup. Keep that sand and salt off the body's exterior as much as possible.
btw: at Roger's recommendation I may be adding splash guards myself. Further practicality. https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a4-...uards-2881682/

That is a great website for determining offset. I plan on getting some 20 X 9 or 20 X 10 wheels. I also plan on lowering the car about 1.5 inches. I want to make sure I do not have any rubbing issues on the inside. Anyone have any info or experience on this type of set up?

I am running 235/50-18 all-seasons. 2% taller and more abundant selection with better pricing. Added some load capacity too. I think it'd be an ideal size for snows.
I considered 235/55-17 and may eventually attempt them. I don't see running 225 as doable short of extreme conditions. 225/55-17 seems too mall overall.

I have just purchased a 2014 allroad and was wondering about putting winter tires and wheels on. I found a set of Audi A4 B8 wheels 17 inch for models from 2009 to 2016 17x7 ET46 5x112. Will the ET46 work with my allroad? I was also planning to but x-ice xi3 225/55/17 to go along with them.
Thank you in advanced

The inside of the rim will be 13mm further inset (20mm difference in offset, less 1/2" reduction in width).
Edit: I failed to mention brake caliper clearance. A higher positive offset shifts inward, and may result in the caliper interfering with the spokes. A narrower wheel compounds this.
Will they work? I say no, unless they provide sufficient caliper clearance. If so, I'm running 19x8.5 ET 32 vs. stock, and they result in the inside edge being 12mm inset, with no tire rub issues.
You may not like the look of the outside face being so deeply inset, but at least you won't be kicking as much road grime onto the side of your car.

ET46 x7 will cause the face of the wheel to be inset by and additional 33mm (1/2" reduction in width + 20mm difference in offset).

I just ordered 17" et35 Audi replica wheels from Costco. The tires will be Michelin Xice xi3 in 225/55/17. I hope it snows again in Vancouver!
