2013 Allroad is misfiring
I brought the Allroad into dealer to have wiring checked after finding a squirrel nest next to the manifold which ignited. After replacing some wires due to squirrel damage, the check engine light came on and the car began running roughly at 65 mph. Now dealer is quoting a $1400 repair to remove carbon from pistons. Here is my Carista readout:
OBD2 - confirmed:
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0304 - Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
Any ideas, the car has 130,000 miles, time for a new one?
Thanks,
Ken

Was it misfiring before the wiring repairs? I would have them re-check the wiring if not. If so, there are a lot of items that can cause a misfire other than carbon buildup, namely the PCV valve, faulty injectors, etc.

Misfire
I’m having a similar issue I changed out the spark plugs and ignition coils and fuel injectors and the knock sensor but I’m still having a miss fire I also used sea foam intake cleaner to clean out my intake manifold and where it goes onto the engine and I’m getting a bad back fire but when I rev the rpms to high rpms it sounds normal it’s just at a rough idle any solutions would be greatly appreciated

Not sure if you tried these two things:
Heres some How To Videos if you need them.
--Replace the PCV Oil Separator:
--Replace Spark Plugs & Coil packs
When I replaced my coil packs the clips that clip into the coils was broken, so when I pushed the clips into the coil packs it didnt plug all the way into the coil, which caused misfiring starting from cylinder 1-4 with 4 misfiring the worst. If you look at the spark plug video you can see the space between cylinder 1 is closer than the space between cylinder 3 & 4. The fix was to pull the broken clip tab out of connector then the connector pushed all the way into coil. This is a common issue, that most mechanics are aware of but charge people for new coils. After they were connected properly the misfiring went away on all 4 cylinders. Hope this helps!!!

To fix it 100% correct you will need to replace the connectors, which I heard not as easy as it looks. This is a common issue, that most mechanics are aware of but charge people for new coils.
