Default Break Pads Replacement

Good morning from newcomer noob,

2014 Audi A4 Allroad, 23.5k miles and the car is still under factory warranty and I also have AudiCare.

During the regular state inspection Dealer here in VA has suggested to replace front break pads which are getting closer to 5mm. The quoted price is $972 and it left me literally speechless. Meanwhile, 3rd party certified shops can do this job for 30% (even 40%) less.

My question is whether replacing break pads with a non-dealer shop would void the warranty OR potentially give a dealer a right to deny some future services under the existing warranty.

Your suggestions/recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance
Dmitriy

the only thing Audi won't warranty is if you have any issues with the brakes you have replaced/repaired.

If you're looking for great brake setups (rotors, pads etc).... give Geoff at Alretta Truck Parts a call ----- great service, even better prices!

He just got me set up for rear brakes on my allroad.

My 2012 A4 ( 6 speed) didn't need brake pad replacement until 140,000 km haha. As long as you buy good quality European breaks and trust your mechanic it shouldn't matter where you get them done. wear and tear items are something a dealer will never cover. my friend had the same problem with his used Chrysler 300. he left the dealer and a week later the breaks needed to be changed.

do your thang and find a euro mechanic you trust.
