Strange knocking from passenger / rear over sharp bumps
My '14 allroad has developed a strange noise from the right rear that can only be described as a knock, It does not happen over every bump, and it happens most when only the right rear hits the bump. Seems like a sway bar issue, though on inspection everything is tight and intact.
to my ears it sounds like either a worn ball joint, or a loose shock mount. Again, it only happens on very sharp bumps. I would say it sounds like there's a golf ball banging on stuff, but there isn't. I drove it with everything removed from the trunk (even the tools, jack, tire, compressor, side panels and roll cover) and it still made the noise.

Figured it out - the bump stop on the right rear shock wasn't staying up in it's place in the upper shock mount. Gave it a little wrap with some electrician's tape, and it's holding in place. No more crazy noises.
