Default 10k Factory Rec. Service Necessary?

My 2017 A4 allroad is scheduled for it's 2-year/10k service check-up however I only have 6k miles on the car.
Own and plan to keep the car for 5+ years so curious if I should spend the $300+ on service or just hold out until I do hit 10k.
Thank you guys.

Oil service is usually both time and distance dependent. You are under the 10K miles, but might be over the time limit. Check your manual. But that first service is largely just an oil change and inspection. You could get the oil changed for much less than $300.

LA, to maintain your vehicle's warranty coverage, they're going to look for an oil change every 12 months (or sooner if you hit the mileage criteria).

Good point - will probably schedule then. Thank you.

Normally the 2 year service is 20K Miles. Usually at that service it's oil change, cabin filter, and brake fluid flush.

Mine car was only at ~5k after 1 year but my 10k service was free and covered by the dealer. You should look into that first.

As others recommended I'd suggest doing the recommended 10k service.

Forgot to mention that I did take my car in for the complimentary 1-year service
In any case, based on all your feedback, so as to not void the 4-yr. warranty will take my car in for 2-year service and ask the audi dealership which "mileage" package to select. Thanks again.

Hmm, my 2018 allroad started asking for oil change after 7800 miles/8 months of leisurely mostly highway driving. Feels like bank robbery!?
I'll check and see if my local dealer has heard of the first free maintenance.

I am wondering though about the 1 year/ 10000 mile rule..why would the car think its already needed so early. My drives usually are 4h trips at relatively even 70mph or so. That seems hardly stressing the engine imho.

Call your dealer's service department and ask, but I'd wager that they forgot to reset the 12-month reminder when you bought the car, so it has been calculating time since it rolled off the assembly line.
