10K Miles 2017 Audi A4 Premium Quattro - 1yr ownership - Need New Transmission!
Hi Everyone,
My first time posting. My 6th Audi, 5 being A4s. This particular one, I got exactly 1 yr and 1 day ago. It’s been about a month dealing with taking the car back and forth to the dealership. The first trip was the 10K service. I had been noticing a screeching noise when I accelerated to 15mph-40mph. It would only stop if I came to complete stop. On my 4th visit, I had the tech in my car again to hear this noise which he had acknowledged a month ago was not right. I told him I read that it could be a transmission or drivetrain issue if we did a little test. I had read that if you get the screeching noise to come on, to put the car in neutral and kill the engine. If you still hear the screeching noise after the engine is killed, it is the transmission or drivetrain. I demonstrated this with him and they finally came back to me on my 4th visit that is was the center differential and due to this, Audi is sending them a new transmission which will take another 7-10 days. I am leasing this one. This however is very disappointing. Anyone else out there have this experience? I have consulted a lemon law attorney. I live in CA.
