Alarm issue
I just posted this on the electronics discussion area, but thought other allroad owners may have the same issue:
I have a 2017 A4 all road. When I lock the car it enables the alarm system which would be fine except that I often have my dog with me. She is a 75 lb German Shepherd. She is well behaved and doesn't mind staying in the car, but when she moves she sets off the alarm. I cannot find a way to disable the alarm and still lock the car. The customer service agent confirmed that the alarm is activated by a motion sensor and that there is no way for the owner to change that. If I have my dog I cannot lock the car! Unsatisfactory design. I live in Colorado where everyone (almost) has a dog. Good grief. I love driving the allroad, my first Audi, but I am not impressed with the electronics and could provide a list of shortfalls. So I called dealer service and asked if there is a tech-accessible software switch to just keep the alarm off. No, they said. Is the dealer correct? Any thoughts?

Thank you!! As a point of reference two different agents on the customer care help line and the dealer service department told me this was not possible. You solved it in short order. Well done.

Ahaah...I was wondering what that was. Good to know as I lock my dog in there too, but haven't had him trip the alarm yet.
I did have an odd alarm issue recently when I opened one of the rear doors.
Using the touch sensor on the door handle, opened the door and the alarm went off.
