Default Center console issues

I am currently having two problems related to my center console. First the two rectangular silver navigation buttons on either side of the navigation wheel/dial are both sticking. The second problem is with the adjustable arm rest. The ratcheting mechanism seems to be broken. the arm rest goes up and down but not all the way down, just to the highest setting.

Spilling drink on the console seems like it may be the common error here, I had a round of this after a coffee lid got loose on a back road near the cottage. It was a pain but with enough effort all the sticky bits worked themselves back out.

The ratcheting mechanism needs to be fully lifted to reset it and allow the arm back down, if that's not working the solution is at the dealership.
