Default OEM Tyres

Hello folks,

Had my eye on the AR for the last 3 years but never pooled the trigger, till now. I have a Golf R but (don't get me wrong) don't wonna drive it every day. Need a relax car very now and then
So 2 weeks ago I got me 2018 AR and love it so far (600 miles) It has Conti pro-contact TX 18" and not sure if it's my imagination but these tyres are ****.
Was driving in the rain today and car is all over in the corners.
What is your experience with OEM tyres in US.........

Thank you,

TireRack customers ranked the wet performance of that tire about mid-range. Follow this link to see the rankings and pick a tire that balance the categories best for your uses.

Not sure how TireRack rated the Conti TX but I rating them garbage (personal opinion)
Did order DWS 06 and will be changing as soon as I get them. Have a very positive experience with the DWS for general use.
If someone wants 4 OEM tires with 500 miles on them for free and you live in NJ let me know.

TireRack didn't. They base their charts on consumer reviews.

Hope you can find the DWS 06 in a suitable size -- looks like a great tire.

Thank you,
OEM tires are awful. Got rid of them after 5 months of owning car. Upgraded to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. Night and day difference. Skittish behavior gone. These tires are great in rain and very planted in all conditions. Can't imagine a more important "mod".

Agree 100% and like the OP, if someone in NJ wants a set of the OEM with about 5k for free, let me know.

One of the issues I have with "consumer" tire reviews is that they've been driving their previous tires for 30-50,000 miles and they are now worn. Almost any new tire is going to feel better, hence higher ratings. I prefer to use TireRack's comparison tests instead.
