Recoated my Allroad

Finally finished (except for door sills, windows and some trim) recoating my Allroad.
Original coating applied about 2.5 years ago and various and toppers since then. All in all has held up well, but it was in needing a recoat.

Washed, Tar Remover, Iron Remover, clayed, polished, ERaser and coatings - Kamikaze's Zipang followed by Miyabi and then Zipang.

This is on top on Xpel and no, that small "line" between the shiny spots is part of the reflection, not a smudge.

Deep gloss - as you would expect after a recoat.

Thanks. This coating should last a few years - hoping 3+.

Bob, what coating was initially used? Was it fading away?

I have been using the Sonax program with similar longevity experience. Much better than when I was young and had to apply the hard paste every 20 minutes. :D

Original - pro applied coating 28 months ago was Nanolex. This car is a daily driver and not garaged kept for the last year and a years. Over that time I have applied a lot of different quick detailers, but for protection I used a few sealants mostly Nanolex Shifinish for maintence. With the sealants applied every few months the car was still beading water and offering good protection and looks.I am sure with the sealant applied every few months the car would fine for at least another year - or more. But I figured it was time for a redo.

Nice job

I had my Allroad treated with xpel and SB3 ceramic coating straight after purchase. Lifetime of the costing is suppose to be 5-10 years based on maintenance and exposure. Sounds optimistic, but seems to be the standard tag line.
Out of curiosity and my knowledge, what signs did you see that indicated that it needed re-coating?

All and all my car was/is in very good shape - coating wise as I also had Xpel and coating applied almost immediately. It was still beading water but obviously less than when newly applied. I could have continued to apply the Nanolex sealant and had excellent coverage but I wanted to get another coat on before there were any signs of failure.
