Default Ventilated/cooled seats

I've searched and haven't been able to figure out - when did ventilated (A/C cooled) front seats become available? Starting on B9? Starting with 2018 model?

Thanks!

I have ventilated front seats in my 2017 A4 Allroad which is an optional equipment. They are worth having and I do feel much better in hot weather.

Keep in mind they are not cooled (as will some brands that actually blow cold air through the seat).....they are ventilated, meaning a fan simply circulates are through the seat. Often referred to in the same terminology there is a BIG difference in the effectiveness of the system type. Just FYI....

Audis are the only ones who suck air into the seat, vs. blowing air out. This has a lesser perceived effect, especially short term. However, by removing moisture from your back, they're more comfortable to sit in for a long drive, but less earth shattering on a quick run to lunch.

I love the ventilation. Very nice feature and it works well. BMW ventilation was awful

Thanks!
As others have said, with 2017. One caveat though- you can only get it with the sports seat option, and it is not available with Atlas Beige seats- likely because pulling air through leather as light as Atlas Beige would get discoloration around the holes in the leather,

I really wanted an Atlas Beige interior, but I opted for Black with the Warm Weather Package, and I have no regrets.
