Wear on the seat bolster

Very interesting. I’ve had my Allroad for almost two years and most of my driving is a 20-mile commute twice a day. I recently took a trip where I was in the driver’s seat for three hours, and I could barely walk at the end of trip. My right hip was killing me. I couldn’t figure out why I was in such pain, and then I remembered I had taken another trip about a year ago of about two hours with similar results. It finally dawned on me that it was the seat bolster digging into my thigh. I felt like an idiot when I realized this. And I’m thinking that some minor aches and pains that I’ve had are also attributable to this they just never rose to a level where I drew the connection. I’m about 6 foot, 1 250. So, I’ve been researching my next car and I’m hoping the new Q8, maybe, fits me better.
I’m thinking the next car for me is a Volvo. I’ve heard their seats are the best out there, and from sitting in them at auto shows they do seem to be high quality. The good news is Volvo actually still makes wagons! The new v60 coming out in 2019 looks quite nice.

Roughly 23k miles into ownership with sport/warm/cold seats and we’re not showing signs of wear yet.
A co-worker mentioned issues with his B8.5 S4, but it seems to have all been related to the “cleaning/protection” product he was using. Not really sure what drives folks above and beyond a thorough vacuum and a damp micro-fibre towel, but to each their own.
