I just bought a 2001 Audi A4 Qautrro. Took it to Audi dealer for service and was diagnosed with a bad "Bank 1, 02 Sensor". My research shows that these cars have four 02 sensors- 2 in front (pre) of the catalytic converters and 2 behind "post". Bank 1 it seems refers to the front sensors. So then my question is are the 2 front sensors the same? Is one a secondary and one a primary? The dealer didn't indicate which one of the two was bad and I want to replace it myself. Thanks for input

You didn't say which engine you have, but if it is a 2.8L V6 it does indeed have four sensors total. According to this listing, the front two sensors are the same for a 2001 2.8L V6: http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...lid=1368110@A4 QUATTRO &year=2001&cid=19@Emission System&gid=5132@Oxygen Sensor
See my post from a week or so ago for a tool that i recommended for changing the sensors, or Shard1's successful results using the tool.
