Default 1997 12v 2.8 camshaft seal leak

i noticed a small oil leak on my garage floor, so i took it to my mechanic and we both had a look under the car and there was oil everywhere, and we tracked it to the 2 camshaft seals closest to the transmission. i need to fix this because my car is due for an oil change and im not sure if it would be a good idea to put in new oil with an oil leak (unless i should do that, i dont really know). i ordered a haynes manual so i can do this properly, but what advice can anyone give me? i searched the forums and i saw some mention of a special tool you need, but is that only for the 30v or do i have to get that tool for the 12v as well? if anyone has any information on this i would appreciate it )
