1998 engine replacement - HELP

I need to replace the engine in my 1998 A4. it is a 2.8l 30v quattro with manual tranny.
what other years will work as it is pretty difficult to find a good 1998 engine.

The key is the engine code. AHA. Audi made it in 98 and 99. They also put it in the A6 in those two years, so you should be able to put that in your A4 too.

What's your location? I have a good one in CT.

It's an AHA engine out of a 98 A4 with about 130k on it.

What's wrong with the engine you have?

You can also use an ATQ 2.8l 30V engine with just a few changes to the manifold and related parts. I have used an 2001 ATQ to replace an AHA in a 1999 A6.
