2.7T engine...

Is it possible for a engine swap with the turbo charged 2.7L from an A6 into an A4 with the stock 5 speed manual tranny? basically im wondering what the differences are between the 2.7T on the A6 and the 2.7 on the A4. Can you easily convert the A4s 2.7 to a turbo? will the manafolds match? thanks.

Got some questions for you:

Are you refering to the 2.8 engine on the A4? Big difference between the 2.8 and the 2.7T

I'm sure with lots and lots of money it could be possible to swap the two, but if you really wanted to spend all that money, I'd keep the 6 speed tranny that came with the engine.

Not worth it in my opinion.

the A4 comes with a 2.8, its a different engine then the 2.7T

someone is selling the S4 V6 BiTurbo on ebay... with tranny. but at the cost of the motor+install..

you might as well sell your A4 and buy a new S4

uh... hold up a minute...

The A4 doesn't come with a 2.7L engine. The S4 does however, and I believe <someone help> that both the A6 and S4 2.7T engines are the same. The 2.7T in the S4 IS a bi-turbo, and therefore you don't need to convert it to one. The A4 does come with a 2.8L engine, but not with turbo. If that's what you are talking about, you can supercharge it I think, but your options are a lot more limited than the 1.8L engine the A4 comes with that IS turbocharged. As far as putting a 2.7T engine in an A4, I guess it could probably be done, but would cost a LOT of money, and would probably <again, not sure, anyone help?> require the 6-speed transmission.
