2 problems within a week.
I need help
the error code po171 came on, so i ordered some parts. I have been driving the car 2002 a4 quatro 1.8L turbo and then I went out to start the car one morning. It took forever to get it started, and then when I stepped on the gas, it conked out.
Now i am devestated. Can anyone help diag problem.

Thats a lean fuel condition - you need to check your fuel pump (hotwire it to make sure it's running, can be done by providing +12V to the pump side of the fuel pump fuse (I couldn't tell you which side of the fuse that is without guessing)).
If its not running you need a new pump.
If it is running, you need to trace electrics - first stop fuse, second stop relay.
Probably not a bad idea to replace the fuel filter and check the engine bay for vacuum leaks (look for degraded hoses - however a small vac leak won't stop the engine starting)
My money's on a bad pump...
