2001 Octane requirements
I understand that the compression ratio has dropped on the new 2001's. Does Audi still require (or is it a suggestion) 93 octane fuel? Has anyone seen a performance decrease running on regular?
Rob K

just use premium- it is expensive but, is your A4 worth it?
$1.75 a gallon yesterday here in S. FL

Re: 2001 Octane requirements
The non-boost compression ratio reduction is insignificant as it might pertain to octane requirements. I assume you are referring to the 1.8T in particular in which case the octane recommendations are based on turbo boosted combustion chamber pressures and ignition timing not on the compression ratio alone.
