Default amazing. just amazing. i have a question about your GPS setup:

is it just a computer based one like yahoo maps where you type in the destination and it tells you how to get there but doesnt follow the car? or does it follor the car and tell you the turns as you go along etc. Also is there a typing interface on the SCREEN like on alpine touch screens so that you wont have to use the keyboard to type in street names and/or sort through menus?
Again, AMAZING job.

Default Very nice. I did similar but not an integrated system like yours.

Everything I used is a removable self contained unit that I wanted to be able to use for other things. I use to use AAA Map-n-Go by Delorme. I just switched to Streets & Trips 2004. I like the detail and routing better, but the interface is not as good sometimes.

Default Very good work...BUT...

Bondo may not have been the best choice of material used to fill the gaps. Reason being that I used bondo on my steering wheel column pod project and it developed cracks after a certain period of time due to the heat cycling it experienced inside the car.

In the end, I redid the project using a polyurethane filler, similar to bondo, but with more flexibility. So far, so good. I hope you fair better, than I did, as I can understand the amount of time and work you put into it.

Along the same lines 3M makes a plastic filler/repair kit for ridgid parts that would be perfect

Default questions

How do you handle power on/off? Say someone turns it off ont the touch screen, how do you power it back up?

What app did you make the interface in or is it XP running in kiosk mode or something?

Can you control your radio from the touch screen? I see an FM Radio button, but does it also play CDs or do you have to use the glove box mounted radio for that?
