Hey guys,

Ive been having problems with my 97 A4 2.8 not starting sometimes. Well today after washing it, it didnt want to start so i was looking at the measuring blocks of the engine with Vag-Com and saw that the coolant temp sensor was showing -47c. Do you guys think this is the problem?

Ive read that these coolant sensors tend to fail on B5 A4 Audis.

Yes. I'm surprised that you seem to be in the dark about it, though you have vag-com and know how to use it.

Replace it.

Yeah, the thing is that I took it to a German cars shop and they couldn't find what was wrong. After searching around, I saw about the coolant sensor so I thought that must be it.

I just received the vag com cable a couple days ago so I'm still getting the hang of it. But I can already tell its a good investment

I ordered the sensor so I'll be replacing it soon.
