97 B5 2.8L (AFC) exhaust manifold replacement?
Just bought an 97 A4 2.8L (afc) and the thing sounds like a damn lawn mower ...assuming it is the exhaust manifold as the previous owner told me that was the issue..my question is, anything else I should check before I go ahead and replace the exhaust manifold and secondly what is the easiest way to remove the exhaust manifold (I believe is drivers side)

Youll need to start a few days ahead of time with a can of PB Blaster on all the bolts. Start at the slip connections. Don’t try to reuse the compression clamps. Work your way forward to the cat pipes, you’ll need to remove the top nut from the top and the 2 lowers from the bottom. You’ll be testing your socket set accessories range. You need lots of extensions and joints. From there you can reach the top set of flange bolts from the top and vice versa. Takes about 4 dedicated hours
