I'm in Oregon, but ordered a '00 1.8 Avant through CarOrder.com. They actually get most of their cars on this coast from Rector Audi in SF. Paid about $2800 UNDER MSRP. It looks like we'll be right at 2 months and a week from order till delivery (car is in port right now =)

Ordered mine in SoCal, which gave me leverage. $1k over invoice. (nt)

Re: A4 1.8 Avant Buying Advice?

I just bought an A4 Avant. 2 pieces of info that helped me out. 1. I went to MSN car point or was it autobytell.com, nevertheless, I asked for a quote from an Audi dealer. I recived invoice and retail prices. 2. If a car is on the lot for 75+ days, the dealer pays Audi in penalties. I happen to find a car that was 70 days and they had to move it.
One thing about the Avants, they are all fully loaded. If you want sport package you may have to order and wait the 3 months. I only found 3 colors in the A4 1.8T Avant, dark navy blue, silver and cactus green. I did see 2 A4 2.8s in the lighter blue.
I live in San Jose, I bought my Avant from a dealer in Sacramento. Avant choices on the dealer lots are thin here in NorCal. call ahead. Oh yeah and Circuit City sells the Panasonic 8 CD changer for $189.00 plus the adapter $70. That is better than the $600 for the Audi changer. I hoped I helped. Please feel free to ask anything else.
