EPC stands for a few things.......
electronic pedal control, electronic power computer, etc.....basically it's drive-by-wire.
There should be a dtc in your ECU explaining a little better what the problem is. Might be able to fix it with a throttle adaptation though. Or you might need a new gas pedal, throttle body, or ECU. Or has the car been in an accident, & there's wire damage?
