Default Keep in mind that a 1999 would be a Tiptronic auto, you have a regular auto...

So its conceivable that they are different. I could believe that some fluid would dribbling out, if the car isn't level, etc. I assume the only reason you are worried about the trans in the first place is from all the oil leaks visible in the pics?<ul><li><a href="http://www.crapple0.com/bentley/b/Audi%20B5%2097-2001/Transmission/5sp%20Automatic%20Transmission%2001V/37-133%20ATF%20checking%20&amp;%20changing.pdf">This is the correct way to measure the oil level, much more involved.</a></li></u

And the car must be level and the trans fluid must be in the correct temp range.

Default Updates

Well guys, I wanna give an update to my posting. It was not an easy task being the first time I did that. After trying a few different methodes to push the transmision oil inside from underneath the carriage I have changed the transmision oil by myself and the car is running well with no problems. Car have now 165k miles. Thanks to all that responded to my posting.

no fear indeed, to lose an auto is not the right saying. Break a part is more like it. However, parts are replaceble and my belief is that what was build by man can also be fixed.
