Default God I hate VW/Audis platform naming strategy....here it is...

...

"A4" platform label refers to the Golf/Jetta/TT/Beetle/Audi A3 platform. This doesn't mean it shares the same platform as the Audi A4

"B5" platform label refers to the Audi A4/Passat/Audi A6 platform.

So, the Audi A4 is NOT built on the same platform as the Jetta, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Hope that helps.

Default Right and just to clarify... the Audi A4 is the only one out of the others with..

Fully independent rear suspension (quattro). The TT's rear is also similar in design (quattro).

Default I thought A6 is a stretched B5 platform

In other words, A4 was firts, then Passat on a slightly stretched platoform, then A6 on a yet more stretched platform.

Am I wrong? If so, what's the designation for the A6/S6 platform?
