Default A4 Tire dilema

All,
I am torn between 2 tires the BF Goodrich Traction T/AŽ 205/55R16 adn the Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus - 205/55R16. There is a $40 per tire difference. Is it worth it? I am looking for a good all season tire that will do well in snow.

I have a 2001 A4 with the sport package.

Default MXV4+ came stock on my Integra and I would say that it's only fair in the snow.

I usually swap them out for snow tires (Nokian) but last year I swapped them back on too early for a road trip and while I was away, CO got dumped with 8ft of snow in a late season storm. They did fine, when I hit the remnants on the return trip.

During the short interval in the snow, they were ok but lets just say the handbrake is a lot more fun with the Mich than the Nokians. The diff is considerable.

Mileage is great on them though. I got about 55k miles on the first set, and the second look to be lasting the same. All on highway driving.

Default Comments on Michelins.....

I just put a set of Pilot Sport A/S on my unk's 1.8t and they are really great tires. We have a set of Pilot Sport N rated on our Boxster and frankly its the best all-round tire I've ever drive on. I got the A/S's for my unk because he's over 75 and I hope he isn't taking off ramps at 70 mph anymore. Were coming up on tires for our 30v and I'll put a set of Michelins on, best tire out there(at right now). I think alot of the racing contracts Michelin has gotten in the past few years has really helped their R&D.
My friend(who is not a car nut)has a 00 323, had Bridgestone S-03's on it and I convinced him to go with the Michelins(PS) after our Boxster experience and he could believe how much better his car drove with the Pilot Sports on.

Default I've tried Pilot Sports, and they were great in the dry, but they were horrible in the rain.

I slid into a few empty crosswalks with the PS. Haven't done it since I ditched them.

Default Traction TA more inside.....

I also have an 01 with the sport package. A buddy of mine bought these tires a couple months before me and he said they were great. I picked up a set at sears for $86 a piece and have been thrilled with them. I live in Mass and have had a crazy amount of snow fall since I have put these tires on and they are great! They are also quite cruising down the highway at 70. I searched for an all-season tire for a while and this one seemed to have the best all around performance. Check tire rack they have ratings on this tire.
