A4's competition is looking sweet...
I just picked up an issue of Motor Trend and they have the new Merecedes-Benz C series in there... wow, they look great and the price looks great too. The C240 comes w/ a manual tranny but only 168hp V6, the C320 has 215hp... now if only it had a manual and all-wheel drive, I'd consider for a next car (of course I'd have to test drive it agaist the new A4's when they come out).
Anyway, just thought I'd see what others opinions are on the styling of these cars. I'm really impressed with what MB did them. I only hope Audi's A4 redesign is as striking...

I would seriously consider one if...
The C320 came in a manual transmission and the 4Matic system was available. But then you are looking at a typical Mercedes price tag. Nice car, but the S4 Avant will be my next ride.

The S4 Avant is a sweet car, but I bet it won't be around when I'm buying again. :-(
The rumor I heard is that it will be going out of production as soon as they start making the next A4. I bet it will be gone for several years after that, the way Audi's model scheduling seems to work.

I don't agree with that...
I'm in my 20's and love the car (well, the way it looks anyway). I will test drive one when my lease is up in 2002... But I'll most likely buy my current car or lease another A4 (or TT), I think I'm an Audi fan for life (along w/ Ford 
).

SORRY my friend...the price DOES NOT look great.
reality is that std. equipment has NOT changed and the only difference is the new design. as a matter of fact the base model has LESS hp than the outgoing one- 170 vs 185.
the only big thing mb is trying to screw everybody into is that the COMAND system is now available- BFD.
FYI...if the C240 continues to start at 32K by the time you add metallic paint(625 bucks-- yes 625), full leather (1235--never mind that the car already has partial leather and that they are charging the same as bmw and audi charge for the step up from leatherette to full leather), moonroof (about 1300 bucks), AND auto- which is the way most people want these cars anyway- 900 bucks, the car is going to cost over 37 THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!! that's right, a 170 hp car costing 37K...are you f*****g kiddin' me? that is a deal?
the only way this new c-class will be worth the money is if rumors are true and MB drops the price down to just under 30K...and that is unlikely...
PS- did you say sport package? it costs 3000 bucks, even if it does come with leather.
