ABS acting up after getting lower control arms replaced.
I just got back from the mechanic after he replaced the front left and right lower rear control arms. No more clunking and squeaking... YES!!!
However, sometimes when stepping on the brakes, the ABS engages, but shouldn't. What could cause this? The only thing I can think of is the ABS speed sensor in the wheel hubs... Maybe it's loose or disconnected, etc. Could this be the problem? Any other ideas?
I'm going to take the wheels off a little later tonight and look, but I'm going to call the mechanic first thing tomorrow morning in case something got screwed up.

similar thing happened to me...
had my cousin's shop replace my all 8 front control arms and suspension a couple of days ago. Then all of a sudden my ABS light came on and stayed on (no flashing and no brake light). It was late and we all wanted to go home so I looked at it later. Turns out they removed the ABS sensor on one wheel and when they reinstalled it forgot to push it in all the way. When I pushed that sucka back into its proper position and went for drive the light turned off and everything seems to run normally (actually better since I had bad control arms before and upgraded the suspension).
It doesn't really bother me because they are my friends, rushed the job for me (did the job in about 6 hours total, including wasting an hour trying to find their spring compressor but ended up borrowing one from the shop next door) because I had to leave for home the next morning (was visiting w/my car from out of state). But they made sure all the control arms and the suspension were secure and all the bolts safely tightened.
