Default ABS Unit question

is there a way to get the pulg out of the front easily without taking out the whole unit? Its an electrical probelem without a doubt because all my idiot lights are going heywire when the abs light comes on. I looked at the wiring diagram and all the systems connected to abs unit are flashing with the idiot lights. I'm wondering if the connection is just dirty or if I could get instide the unit maybe theres a melted wire or something. (I just noticed there wasnt a fuse in the spot for the ABS Unit)

Default Sounds like you need an ABS computer rebuild.

My ABS 'puter is in the shop right now, costing me about $275. Below are the steps to remove the computer.

You can access the top wire harness without removing the entire unit, but to get to the bottom wire harness you'll need to remove the computer.

In my 99.5, the computer is attached to the top of the ABS pump, in the engine bay.

To remove the computer, I did the following:
- Removed driver's side front wheel
- Removed wheel liner
- Removed Washer fluid reservoir
- Unscrewed all 6 screws attaching the computer to the pump. (only one is inaccessible, and therefore necessitates the removal of the washer fluid reservoir)
- Unplugged top and bottom plugs on the computer
- Removed computer by sliding the computer away from the pump (careful not to bend the solenoids)<ul><li><a href="http://www.autoecu.com/Products/default.asp">http://www.autoecu.com/Products/default.asp</a</li></ul>

Default hey

does it work without the ABS? what do you do just unplug the fuses and the lights go out? or does everything still work? I guess I just cant see how that works when so much stuff goes into the ABS controler thing.

Default Car runs normally w/out the ABS computer, just NO ABS function, and the

Brake and ABS lights are illuminated/flashing on the dash.

Remember, you won't have ABS, and if you have traction control it might not work.
