abs wheelspeed sensor

abs wheelspeed sensor
anyone know what would cause this to malfunction, according to the vag it is the abs wheelspeed sensor intermitted? not sure what that means, it is causing my abs and brake light to come on about 20 sec after i drive. anyone have any thoughts<ul><li><a href="http://breathe_blue@yahoo.com">http://breathe_blue@yahoo.com</a</li></ul>

Pull the sensor out of the hole and see if the magnetic ring is still on the axle.
I had that happen to mine and the magnetic pick up ring on the axle had disintegrated. The worst part about it is that they don't sell that part seperately. I had to buy a new axle.
