Alientech AlienWindow controller
has anyone tried one of these for an audi? I really want the functionality of it but they say it only works with VW's? I think it would work but I don't want to buy it an find out it doesn't.<ul><li><a href="http://www.alientech.net/">http://www.alientech.net/</a</li></ul>

I would get a friend's VW remote that falls under the compatability list on their website and try to
synchronize the VW remote with your car. This would be your first step in checking to see if this thing will work with the A4. I assume that it receives the RF signal from the remote and then controls the locking system via hard wiring. The A4 might have a different type of locking system than the VW cars (maybe not), and if this is true, you might not be able to get the proper functionality from this unit.
From their website:
"Your car must be equipped with these VW factory features: power windows, power door locks, and alarm system with remotes. The AlienWindow controller supports vehicles with or without a sunroof. You car must have the feature which allows you to roll the windows up and down by holding the key in the door lock (some early models sold in Europe did not have this feature)."
Get a VAG-COM tool, you can do everything this thing claims to do without having to hard wire an inteface box into your car, assuming you have the OEM central locking system that works via a remote.
