Alignment and lowering......Stock= align to stock spec; Lowered= align to what spec? stock spec?

Heard alignment not necessary....
because when lowering steering components are not touched therefore alignment not affected. Ordered springs and shocks and shop told me no alignment necessary.

NOT TRUE. When installing springs (and shocks), the components are
taken off the car as an assembly. The rear is especially affected. When they are bolted back on, they are thrown out of whack. I got just springs and I sudder at how off the alignment was. I watched the guy work the hunter alignment machine.
As to what specs, align even lowered cars to Stock specs. I DID make a few tweaks to it, namely settng camber in the rear (the only ones that can be modified), to 0, and toe in rear to 0 as well. The fronts are good as stock (-.08 both sides), but I did it to +0.05 to make steering quicker. WJM drove it, and I think we are both in agreement, that while quicker, it's also twitchier. I'd stick with stock or even -0.3
