Default Alignment question...Had alignment 4 weeks ago. Noticed steering wheel not on center....

this morning. It's not really bad, but it is noticably not on dead center when I'm moving straight forward. It doesn't pull or vibrate or anything strange. Could the guys that did the alignment not tightened something down? I would think they would check this problem out for free? (at least I would expect them to). It was a local Goodyear shop & they were excellent the first time around. BTW- I haven't hit anything that would cause a problem.
Thoughts appreciated.

yup, they aligned your tie rods (steering rods) for toe and forgot to keep the steering wheel center

I don't think it is....I briefly drove in the oncoming lane to check it.

Default You could always straighten it...

By taking ot off and placing it straight on the column.

Default the bolt holding it requires a special tool though, then a puller

so much easier to adjust the tie rods

Default if that's the case, did you hit the curb when you parked? It's all mechanical,

so, either you bent something from yesterday, something came loose or just didn't quite notice it before. If you mentioned the car was pulling to a side and the natural tendency to correct it makes the steering wheel off center, that is a different story and usually more trouble in there.

Default It must be different than...

I never needed a special tool to get my wheel off. I had to replace every switch on my steering column so far.

I guess I just got lucky though because I got a quote on just the headlight wiper stalk for over $800 bucks. Thats freaking rediculous. I paid 130 bucks for the part and it only took me a half an hour and some Torx sockets. =)
