I keep hearing that Audi has the best paint / paint process in the industry. Why is this?

Looking at A4s I have to say that I have not been overwhelmingly impressed with the Audi colors. Yes their process / quality appears to be very above average but the colors just don't strike me. Don't get me wrong, I still love the cars and am planning to get one mid next year. The color choice has been the most difficult parts of my decision. On the other hand, I don't think I have seen a new BMW 3 series color that I did not like. For some reason the BMW colors are more appealing to me. (But I am still getting an A4).
