Am I really out of luck here with the stereo code?
I have a 98.5 and the car stereo went into the SAFE mode. I don't have the code. I called the dealership that the car originally came from (I bought it used, but it had the dealership's business card in the glove compartment). They seemed nice on the phone (gotta love CT), but they said that because the car is old by now, they don't have the code (he looked up my VIN), and the only way to do it is to go to any dealership, hook up the car to their computer that communicates with the central computer in Germany, and that's the only way to pull the code. They'd charge one hour's labor for it. Is there really no other way to do it?
Will something like this link work? Still cheaper than going to the stealership.<ul><li><a href="http://www.radio-code.co.uk/premium_blaupunkt_radio_code.php">http://www.radio-code.co.uk/premium_blaupunkt_radio_code.php</a</li></ul>

Rumor has it that the radio code is on a sticker in the spare tire well.
I never checked so I cannot verify. But you can find that sticker and try some of the different combinations of numbers.
Good luck!
