AMP...SUB....INSTALL

HELP.....
lookin for an EZ way to connect a sub in 01 A4
with NON-BOSE factory stereo.... i want the rear
speakers to work. you know have a factory setup
with an aftermarket sub

just wanna splice in somewhere w/ some RCA cables
or one of the one of the RCA converter boxes.
looked in the TECH forums, but it seems to be
that everyone who's tried this has done so in the BOSE
system, figured it would be a bit different.

besides a audio forum referral, here is some info...

there is a signal converter that can get spliced into your rear speaker wiring and only draw a small amount of power from the total power going to your rear speakers. It converts the wiring to an RCA output that can then be ran to your sub amp.

I patched a Line Out Converter into the Rear subwofer inputs (disconnected the rear sub too)

It is a nice set up, It provides a factory crossover (so your new sub is just picking up where your factory speakers leave off) and you dont sap power from your rear speakers.

Also, if you tap your remote line into the rear subs amp, you can get your amplifier to turn on when you turn on the radio, and not when you turn on your car. (in other words, when you have the key out of the ignish and you hit the power button, you arent a little weak in the bass section)

LOC. Doesnt draw much power at all (maybe a few watts max)
