Default Any difference in internal design between a transmission oil cooler and an engine oil cooler?

I can get a transmission oil cooler at Auto Zone for ~$45... engine oil coolers seem to be $150-200.

The viscosities and temperatures and fittings are relatively similar, I'm not sure of the operating pressure of an autobox, but would that be the only difference? I want to mount it where the SMIC used to be, the piping should be very straightforward, thanks to that great writeup posted a few weeks ago.

Trying to avoid buying a $200 mocal cooler in order to deal with the coming summer heat.

Thanks fellas.

Guess I can start picking parts off the old beast if I'm not going to sell it...

Best way to clean/flush it out and make sure its not a flow restriction or full of old crap? The car has been sitting for a year and a half, and has 180k on it.

How's that manifold coming?

Default NOICE! The manifold is just about done. I just have to TIG it. I MIG'd it all together.

I'll send you pics. Hey, you think you may want the turbo?

Default Yeah, depending on what CTS decides to do with mine.

I'm going to see if they will just replace it with a GT28R... since they cost the same. If they send me another K04, I'm going to sell it and I'll buy yours.

Deal?

Post some pics! Or email em...
