Anybody with MY00 notice any mysterious, perfect, scuffless dents ala "d-pillar dent"?
They are supposed to have fixed the problem but I'm just wondering if the problem has resurfaced for anybody. I am trying to figure out if mine was an accident or if it was a production defect.
My story from posts below:
"My nite out got me a fist sized dent in my driver side c-pillar. I suspect some drunk a-holes were shoving around and one of them landed on my car with his elbow first. I secretly hope it was his led with his head, you gotta hit that pillar pretty hard to put a big dent in it.
Still, when it happened I had wondered if it was something like [the documented d-pillar dent]. My dent is lower, closer to where the pillar meets the rest of the body, but strangely there were no marks or scuffs on the paint at all. That is why I concluded it was somebody's elbow or fist.
In any case, I already had the dent taken out with paintless dent removal. But the strange thing is there is a slight flat spot in the same location on the other side. Very subtle, and I only noticed it since I got the dent and started inspecting the pillars very closely."<ul><li><a href="http://tech.vw.com/audipdf/a539901.pdf">D-Pillar Dented</a></li></ul>

There is a service bulletin out on it. (more)
I had the same problem. Sunnyside Audi said no there wasn't and that it was from some drunk but I was sure it wasn't the case. In fact I would bet my car on.it.
So, I went to FRED BAKER Porsche Audi and they told me there was a service bulletin and that they would fix it under warranty.
Resolution: The problem deals with the foam they use to fill the space in teh pillar. Sometimes the foam collapses sucking in the Pillar. Thus the perfect dent.
The bottom line is that it is a service bulletinn and if your car is under warranty they should fix it.

ANDY: do you remember details of this car...e.g. who was it, MY, etc. That's what my MY00 did!!!
Of course I already paid $100 to have it fixed myself. But it'd be nice to make a case and try to get some $ back. Also the other side has a similar but extremely subtle mark.
