Anyone do a wheel/hub stud conversion? After replacing a hub (and wheel bearing) due to snapped lug
I would rather covert to studs than buying more lugs.
What are my options?
I see <a href="http://www.ecstuning.com/HR/appguides/app_search.cgi?make=&qt=studbolt&model=&thread=14x 1.5&submit=Search!">these at ECS</a>.
I assume I need 60mm ball seat for my OEM 17" RS4 Type wheels & B5 S4 Avus wheels both running 8mm spacers.

Craftsman air-gun grade bolt-out snapped in half:

drilled out and used a screw-type bolt-out to no avail and a tap isn't strong enough to get through what's left (top left one):

what size is the thread?
i can find out at work tomorrow what size drill you can use if you want. I am sure there are charts on the internet too. Also put some oil on the tap.

I just converted about a month ago.
The stud kit came from 2Bennet but I believe it is an H&R set. They come preloaded with red loctite. After the first track day with them a few of studs backed out when I pulled the lug nuts off. Got me a little concerned. Since then, after getting retorqued they've been fine.
The threads on one of my hubs was just starting to strip so I made the switch.

2 Bennet has them in stock, the screw in studs that dont req new wh. bear is what u want?
I think they are a little ov er 2$ each and need a different nut. But otherwise they are very good. There is also another setup that you have to take hub and bearing off to do, and this may be a stronger setup (?).I have heard these hold up good (screw in stud kit).
