Audi A4 Avant b5 1.8 non turbo starting problem
I have an A4 Avant 1.8 year 2000, I have owned this car for 6 years with no problems at all up until about 2 months ago. The problem started a couple of months ago when I moved my car about 10 feet to load it up, it started fine I moved it loaded up then got back in and it wouldn't start, I then took the key out locked and unlocedu it then it started but no throttle just idled even with my foot hard on the accelerator, turned it off took the key out locked it and unlocked it and it started and had throttle. It's been fine ever since up until 3 days ago when I was driving home from work, I stopped at a shop came out to the car and it wouldn't start turned over fine, I left it at the shop walked home to get my code reader and walked back to the car, before plugging it in I thought I'd try to start it and it was fine, yesterday it was fine then today I went to work came home parked on the drive and as it was hot I thought I'd try starting it again to see if the problem was still occuring and it wouldn't start but half an hour later it's fine again, anyone have any ideas what it could be as I really don't want to scrap it.

Update
Car is fixed, the oxygen sensor in the inlet manifold was checked, the crank angle sensor checked, the main relay next to the ECU was checked. It turned out to be part of one of the wires leading to the ECU had broken down.
