The above would be my ideal car (2nd would be B5 Passat 1.8T AWD manual, only very few 2004.5 exist here in NA I was told).

Does it exist? What years did they offer this combination in the US?

If not or very rare or expansive: what is the closest I can get (I have 1.8T AEB engine to swap in). Best to find a 2.8 manual avant quattro and swap 1.8T AEB in?

They are around. Just have to search for them. Try AutoTrader.com as well.

You can narrow your search to wagon models (avant),choose 4 cylinder, all wheel drive, 97-01, and manual transmission.

Should bring up exactly what you're looking for.

New to this forum. FYI I have a 2000 1.8 A4 Avant with manual. Blue with clay interior that I just listed today on Carsoup.com so there is at least one out there. Good luck with your search.

I got one! 2000 A4 quattro silver with a 5 spd. It took me a about two months to find one. I ended up getting one at a used car lot with 93k on the odometer. It is so versatile.
