my 96 a4 clutch/ tranny

today i just noticed that when i try and put it into 3rd from 4th it wont go, like something is blocking it, but if it put it from 4th to neutrual and wiggle it around then put it into 3rd it works. It also works when i put it into 3rd from 2nd... If anyone has any sugesions on whitch part the tranny or clutch is goin bad or any feedback at all that would be helpful. thanks a lot

Could be a linkage problem

I had problems with 1st and 2nd gear when the bolt that holds the pivot bar inside the trans broke.

Agree with the linkage problem. May be linkage bushings are worn, not allowing the trans to come out of one gear, before going into another. Used to be a common problem in older Audi cars. Don't see to much of it anymore.
